A Dyadic Biography

How I Currently Choose to Think It All Works

The word “choose” is emphasized in the title of this chapter because for me it is a matter of choice in terms of which designs I energize and which ones I don’t. In some respects, I see what every other person is doing in that way, too.

Earlier I stated that to my mind “how it all works” is very fluid and flexible, where individually and together we Essential I/spirit-being humans craft designs about “reality” and then experience the results. I see cultural, human-crafted patterns (bands B and A in my “bands of reality” schema), as being mixed into the original design for the Earth system, (band C, that is coupled with divinity, band D) so that it really is a bands DCBA reality we are currently co-crafting and experiencing. And from this perspective, everything has a divine origin.

In my previous book, God’s River of Love, I wrote, “Each person's worldview is her or his own individual perspective of reality. It is from its overall and specific dynamics that one makes connections with others and coforms events with them. One’s worldview and its various ingredients also serve as the filters through which the world is perceived, the searchlights and selectors for what is seen, and how it all is experienced. Therefore, perception is closely tied to a person's ways of thinking and overall worldview.”

I went on to say, “How I think it all works is that each of us uses patterns of mental thoughts and ideas, of beliefs, of emotions, of internal images, of desire and intent to form major portions of our life experiences and events. I say major portions because we are usually in relationship with others who are also setting forth their patterns, which affect the events and experiences of our lives, as ours do theirs.

“How do we acquire these patterns to start with? I think from the time we as spirit enter the culture we are born into, becoming spirit-people, we are automatically and internally programmed by those around us with mental pictures, words, attitudes, beliefs, emotions, and actions. They tell us who we are supposed to be and how to act because of our gender, our religion, our laws, procedures, and other cultural agreements. These programs become impregnated and internalized within each of us.

“Then as we go through our lives, we automatically use this mixture of cultural patterns, interweaving it with our individual reactions to and interpretations of what we are experiencing. At each step along the way, we oftentimes accumulate more patterns which we add to our mix. Since others are using their mixtures too, we all mix our mixes in an energy dance of creativity.”

In God’s River of Love I also wrote “In simplified terms, thought patterns (patterns of thought) can be seen as the forms, frameworks, and containers we use to construct the events of our lives, while emotions are the fuel that give them energy.”

From my position of today, these are still some of the best perspectives I know about with which I am attempting to get as close as I can to “how it all works.”
